Norwegian Constitution Day is the official National Day of Norway, celebrated on the 17th of May. Among Norwegians, the day is referred to simply as “Syttende Mai” (17th of May) or Grunnlovsdagen (The Constitution Day). Since 1889 in Seattle, festivities happen all day in the Ballard neighborhood. The highlight of the day is an evening parade, which started in 1974. The parade begins 24th Ave NW at NW 62nd St, makes turns at NW Market St and 22nd Ave NW onto Ballard Ave NW, ending at Ione. More info: 17th of May Seattle – 17th of May Seattle
