Advent is the time of preparation before the Nativity of Christ on Christmas Day. This worship service includes Readings and Carols by all of the cathedral’s Youth Music ensembles, accompanied by organ. The ensembles sing songs from around the world, lending a global voice to the anticipation of Advent leading to Christmas joy. Youth readers offer traditional readings from Holy Scripture heralding Christ’s birth. Congregational carols are sung in the soft glow of candlelight. No tickets or reservations are required for this liturgy – all are welcome! A freewill offering to benefit the Youth Music Program will be collected. Parking in the nearby Cabrini Garage is free from 6:00-10:00pm for this event—to receive free parking, you must take a ticket from the machine when you enter the garage, and write “St. James Cathedral” on it before you hand it to the attendant upon exiting the garage.
