The Great Northern and Cascade Railway is a volunteer run, 7-1/2″ gauge public railroad, museum and souvenir shop in Skykomish Washington. They focus on sharing the rich history of the Great Northern Railway throughout the Skykomish Valley and beyond. The depot museum and souvenir shop is open year-round, Thursday-Monday from 11:00am to 3:00pm. FREE, unlimited, miniature train rides are available Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 4pm from the first weekend in May to the last weekend in October. The train ride takes approximately 10-12 minutes on a double loop trip over 5,000 feet of track. Our railroad also includes a tunnel, a snow shed, and 2 bridges. Locomotives will vary and can include electric or gas-powered locomotives as well as propane, oil, and coal fired steam locomotives. More info: Great Northern and Cascade Railway (gnandcr.org)
