Everyone is welcome at the annual Veterans Day Ceremony held at Veterans Park on November 11. The community is invited to a short, in-person Veterans’ Day remembrance ceremony that includes a Rifle Volley and playing of “Taps”. Well, we can’t tell you more than what the organizer states, which is exactly nothing. However, based on our experience with reading about and posting many other Veterans Day events, we would guess that a 1-hour event includes something like a flag ceremony, speech, and band or bugle player.
If it was 2-4 hours, there might be some other activities. Mill Creek has a bigger celebration with parade. The biggest in the area is Auburn, which is a nationally designated site. They’ve pretty much got all day events, a parade, exhibits, and more.
So if you want something solemn, stick with Lynnwood or any of the countless other small remembrances. If you want the whole enchilada, you’re best bet is Auburn…they’ve been doing Veterans Day for decades.

Please tell me more about it! Is there a parade? A raising of the flag? Guest speakers? Speech from the mayor? Candy? Hot dogs military? Military equipment on display? On the fly over? please give me a reason to go
