Parades on July 4th in the Puget Sound region (greaterseattleonthecheap.com)

Parades are another great way to celebrate community. Seafair festivals and parades happen in Seattle all summer long. Some are community parades that have been held since before Seafair began in the 1950s.

I love the fireworks shows for Independence Day, but know that many do not. (My husky dogs were never bothered by them, nor was I.)

But the popularity of fireworks seems to be decreasing due to environmental concerns, public safety, and cost. The following communities are hosting parades on July 4th.

July 4th Parades in the Puget Sound Region

Most are daytime parades. Some are preceded by children’s parades. We include starting time for the main parade and approximate route. Follow the links for more details, including parking and other information.

Arlington: 5PM Grand Parade on Olympic Ave, preceded by a Kiddie version. More info: Fourth of July Celebration | Arlington, WA (arlingtonwa.gov).

Bothell: NOON Grand parade Main Street through Bothell Way NE (starts from 104th Ave NE & Main St and ends at NE 188th St, Near Pop Keeney Stadium). Preceded by a kiddie version. More info: Fourth of July Parade & Pancake Breakfast | Bothell WA

Carnation: 11:30 Grand parade along Tolt Ave from W. Rutherford Street to Myrtle Street. Peceded by a kiddie version. More info: Parade Information — Carnation 4th of July

Dupont: 10AM Float Parade begins in front of the DuPont Community Center on Repauno Ave and squiggles through town on DuPont Ave and Haskell St, ending at Clocktower Park. More info: Annual Fourth of July Hometown Celebration | DuPont, WA – Official Website (dupontwa.gov)

Edmonds: NOON Main parade begins at 6th & Main, and squiggles through town along 6th, Walnut, 5th, and Main, ending at 4th and Daley. Preceded by a kiddie version. More info: An Edmonds Kind of 4th — Edmonds Chamber of Commerce

Everett: 11AM parade. Starts at 25th Street and travels along Colby Ave, turning left at Wall Street for one block, then left again onto Wetmore Ave back to 25th. More info: Everett 4th of July | Color of Freedom | Community Parade

Kingston: NOON. From Lindvog Rd to Washington Ave. Viewing areas available on N and S sides of Hwy 104. More info: Kingston 4th of July Celebration
