Benaroya Hall occupies an entrie city block in downtown Seattle and houses two performance spaces: S. Mark Taper Foundation Auditorium (2,479-seats) and Illsley Ball Nordstrom Recital Hall (536-seats). In addition, The Garden of Remembrance outdoors on the south and west sides of Benaroya Hall honors Washington State war dead since 1941. Paved walks pass between the walls, trees, and flower beds of the garden, while water cascades over rough rock into two pools. Stone benches provide seating and the plaza accommodates small gatherings.
