Medical services in Seattle and King County
Country Doctor Community Health Centers (CDCHC) clinics provide a full range of family services with a skilled and knowledgeable staff who will make every effort to make sure you get the care you need in your own community. Many of clinic staff members are bilingual (English/Spanish), and they will also arrange for interpretation for patients who speak other languages. All sites charge on a sliding fee scale. CDCHC accepts most forms of insurance, including Medicaid and Medicare. If you do not have medical coverage, they offer reduced fees adjusted according to the size and income of your household as well as insurance eligibility specialists who can help you find coverage. Every patient will be asked to pay a fee at the time of the visit. The minimum fee is $20, though you may be asked to pay more based upon your income and family size. Neighborcare Health is the largest provider of primary medical and dental care in the Seattle area for low income and uninsured families and individuals, serving the community for almost 50 years. They focus on low-income and uninsured families and individuals, seniors on fixed incomes, immigrants, and the homeless. Each year they care for about 75,000 patients at almost 30 non-profit medical, dental, and school-based clinics. YWCA Health Care Access works to provide women and families who are low-income, homeless or at-risk of homelessness with information about and connections to free or low-cost medical services and coverage. Services include medical and dental care, eye exams and glasses, pre-natal care, managed care education and information, and unpaid medical bills. Seattle Indian Health Board (SIHB) is a non-profit, multi-service community health center specializing in service to American Indians and Alaska Natives who live in the greater Seattle/King County area. Although some services and programs are offered to eligible Native patients only, most primary care services are available to everyone regardless of race, color, sex, national origin, disability, religion, sexual orientation or inability to pay. The Seattle Indian Health Board serves all patients and offers discounted fees to those who qualify. RotaCare provides free medical care to Washington State Residents who have no insurance or no access to medical care. The clinics are staffed by a coalition of volunteers: Physicians, Nurses, Pharmacists, Medical Technicians, Social Workers, Translators, Clerical Workers and Rotarians who provide free medical care in a collaborative effort with hospitals, clinics, community service organizations and service groups. King County Public Health helps assure access to high-quality health care for all populations. Public Health services are provided at Public Health Centers located in Seattle, Bellevue, and other cities in King County. Not all services are offered at every Public Health Center. Medical services in Pierce County
MDC Health is a program of the Metropolitan Development Council that offers a comprehensive spectrum of care for low-income and homeless clients. Services include medical care, emergency shelter, detoxification, chemical dependency in-patient referrals/placements and out-patient counseling, and mental health treatment and family support counseling. Services are available on a sliding payment scale for everyone. Community Health Care (CHC) is a non-profit organization that meets the needs of the low-income and uninsured residents of Pierce County. They accept many private insurance plans as well as Medicare and Medicaid. Uninsured patients are charged on a sliding fee scale based on family size, income and services provided. CHC currently operates five medical offices, four dental clinics, and five pharmacies.
